Quality Care in a Quiet Country Setting

Located in the beautiful community of Twin Falls, ID, Sawtooth Behavioral Health offers the same level of superior care you’d find in a larger metropolitan area with the comfort and convenience afforded by small town hospitality. Having remodeled the 3rd floor of the old Twin Falls Hospital, Sawtooth offers state of the art comfort and care that can’t be found anywhere else in Idaho.

Our mission is to provide quality mental and behavioral health services partnered with comprehensive medical care. Our dedicated team of highly skilled and specially trained medical and mental health professionals develop an individualized goal-directed treatment plan based on our patient’s specific physical, emotional, behavioral, social and cultural needs.

Mental Health Care

Older persons with short and long term mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and/or schizophrenia can often find that the symptoms of these disorders amplify with age. Our staff understand these changes and are experienced in dealing with the unique medical and psychological needs of those aged 55 and above. We offer a variety of strategies to assist in keeping these individuals as independent as possible within their communities. Individualized behavioral modification, medication therapy and a structured environment are a few of the ways we achieve this goal.

Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care

A large portion of Sawtooth’s patient population are affected by some form or degree of dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other dementia-related mental illness. Our staff and medical providers have attended substantial specialized training on how to manage the effects of this disease to achieve the most desirable outcome.

While there is no “magic cure” for the deficits caused by dementia or Alzheimer’s, our goal is to manage our patient’s personal frustrations and behavioral symptoms caused by the disease, while ensuring they achieve and maintain the best quality of life possible. A variety of methods are used when working with patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s, including individualized treatment plans, medication therapy, behavioral intervention and many recreational and social activities.
